About This Crystal
A tumbled, polished stone of clear to milky-white quartz. It has an asymmetric, rounded drop or pebble shape with a smooth, glossy surface. The upper section shows higher transparency, while the central and lower portions exhibit internal fracturing, micro-inclusions, and a cloudy, milky appearance.
Physical Characteristics
Colorless or white, with a white streak. It has no true cleavage, exhibits a distinct conchoidal fracture, specific gravity of approximately 2.65, brittle tenacity, and a vitreous to greasy luster on polished surfaces.
Optical Properties
Singly or doubly refractive (uniaxial positive) with a refractive index of 1.544 to 1.553, birefringence of 0.009, and generally transparent to translucent with no strong pleochroism.
