The carved turtle figurine features a polished, domed shell made of banded yellow and white translucent stone with organic veining, while the head, flippers, and tail are carved from a dark grey to black, opaque, fine-grained stone with engraved scaling patterns.

Shell displays vitreous to waxy luster, yellow to cream body color with white bands, white streak, conchoidal fracture, specific gravity around 2.7. Body displays dull to greasy luster, dark grey/black color, white streak, uneven fracture, specific gravity around 2.7 to 2.8.
