Green Goldstone
Man-made Glass with Metallic Copper Inclusions (Synthetic Aventurine Glass) · Decorative Stone / Synthetic Gemstone

Crystal System
Amorphous (Man-made glass lacks a true crystal system)
Mineral Group
Man-made Silicate Glass
Chemical Formula
SiO2 (glass matrix) with Cu (copper crystals)
Formation Process
Synthetic/Man-made via a high-temperature reduction process where metallic copper is precipitated out of a molten silicate glass solution.
About This Crystal
The bracelet features spherical polished beads of green goldstone characterized by a dark green to brownish-green translucent matrix densely filled with tiny, highly reflective metallic copper crystals that create a glittering or spangled appearance, known as aventurescence. A central cylindrical bead of opaque, deep green nephrite or jadeite jade separates the goldstone beads.
Physical Characteristics
Dark green body color with golden-green metallic flash. Vitreous to metallic luster. Conchoidal fracture. Specific gravity is approximately 2.5 to 2.8. Completely opaque to translucent matrix with distinct crystalline metal platelets.
Optical Properties
Singly refractive glass matrix with strong aventurescence caused by light reflecting off suspended microscopic copper platelets, giving a glittering spangled effect.
Hardness & Durability
Origin Region
Manufactured primarily in China, Italy, and India
Hardness & Durability
Mohs hardness is around 5.5 to 6 for the glass matrix. Moderate durability, sensitive to sudden thermal shock and deep scratching, suitable for carefully worn jewelry.
Care & Maintenance
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, and prolonged exposure to extreme heat or hard impacts.
Rarity & Value
Common and inexpensive, mass-produced in factories. Value is low, typically sold as affordable fashion or metaphysical jewelry.
Special Characteristics
Intense aventurescence (sparkling or glittering metallic reflection) caused by the precipitation of elemental copper crystals within the glass.
Lore & History
Although synthetic, green goldstone is popular in modern crystal healing and new age traditions. It is often regarded as a stone of ambition, vitality, and renewal, traditionally associated with the Heart Chakra to promote emotional healing, optimism, and abundance.
