About This Crystal
A translucent to opaque green variety of quartz characterized by internal platy inclusions. It exhibits a vitreous to waxy luster and often shows 'aventurescence'—a shimmering effect from light reflecting off mica flakes.

Color: Pale to forest green. Streak: White. Fracture: Conchoidal to splintery. Specific Gravity: 2.64–2.69. Fluorescence: Generally inert, but may show weak green under UV.

Common. Value is determined by the intensity of color and the amount of aventurescence. It is an affordable decorative material and is rarely treated, though some pale specimens may be dyed.
