Formation Process
Industrial/Pyrometallurgical: Produced in a low-oxygen reducing atmosphere by melting silica, copper oxide, and other fluxes, then slowly cooling to allow copper ions to precipitate as octahedral crystals.

A reddish-brown, opaque to translucent glass containing highly reflective, uniform metallic inclusions. It features a smooth, vitreous luster and a distinctive dense 'sparkle' throughout the body of the material.

Historical lore claims it was discovered by accident by Italian monks or glassmakers (the Miotti family) in Venice. In metaphysical traditions, it is often called the 'Stone of Ambition' and associated with the Root and Sacral chakras, though these are cultural beliefs rather than scientific facts.
