A light green, translucent to semi-translucent crystal pendant cut into a double-terminated hexagonal prism shape with a metallic silver-colored bail. It displays a shimmering or glistening effect known as aventurescence due to tiny included mineral platelets.
Physical Characteristics
Light pastel green body color with a white streak. Conchoidal fracture, no distinct cleavage planes visible on the shaped pendant. Specific gravity is approximately 2.65. Tenacity is brittle.
Optical Properties
Singly refractive or pseudo-uniaxial positive with low birefringence (0.009). Exhibits aventurescence (a glistening effect caused by light reflecting off tiny included flakes of fuchsite or other minerals).
