An opaque to translucent massive mineral specimen featuring pale to vibrant turquoise-blue and greenish-blue hues intermixed with white, cream, and grey matrix patterns, displaying a distinct mottled or cloud-like appearance reminiscent of sunlight reflecting on Caribbean water

Color ranges from white and light blue to deep oceanic blue with greyish-brown host rock matrix; streak is white; cleavage is perfect in two directions; fracture is uneven to splintery; specific gravity is approximately 2.70 to 2.90; tenacity is brittle

Biaxial (+) with refractive indices ranging between 1.594 and 1.633; birefringence is around 0.039; generally exhibits a vitreous to silky luster depending on the crystal fiber orientation; no significant pleochroism
