About This Crystal
A small, tumbled, smooth pebble with an opaque to translucent milky-white appearance and a vitreous to waxy luster. Internal microscopic fluid inclusions cause the milky, cloudy white color.
Physical Characteristics
Color is milky white to grayish-white with a white streak. It has no true cleavage, exhibits a conchoidal fracture, and a specific gravity of approximately 2.65.
Optical Properties
Singly or doubly refractive depending on angle, uniaxial positive with a refractive index around 1.544-1.553. No significant pleochroism.
