A tumbled, opaque specimen exhibiting a warm, terracotta-red to brownish-red hue with a smooth, polished surface and subtle internal fractures or veining typical of microcrystalline quartz.

Brick-red to brownish-red body color with a white streak, microcrystalline habit, lacks true cleavage with a conchoidal to uneven fracture, specific gravity of approximately 2.58 to 2.91, brittle tenacity, non-magnetic, and generally inert under ultraviolet light.

Sub-vitreous to waxy luster, opaque transparency, singly or microcrystalline doubly refractive with no significant pleochroism or special optical phenomena.
